One night, her father contacts her through an old radio

Haunted by her father's disappearance 30 years ago, Stella returns to her hometown to care for her ailing mother. Stella must travel back in time to get him back by activating the Taklee Genesis. This film offers many enjoyable moments if it doesn't take itself too seriously.

As a result, it feels like a more generic version of Steven Spielberg's Ready Player One

It's a sci-fi mystery based on a time travel story that combines elements of drama, comedy, horror, and fantasy. At times, it felt like the director had a list of scenes from the film from which he picked a random object and put it into the film. As a result, viewers see a crazy array of aliens, dinosaurs, spaceships, zombies, kaiju, and many other things that they didn't expect.

As with many time travel films, plot twists are hard to avoid

There are a lot of things in this movie that are often trivialized in dialogue with phrases like It's Allright, Don't Worry, or Everything will be fine. While the actors seemed to be trying their best, the acting is still another weakness of this movie. At the beginning, the British parent spoke like she was recording a lesson on listening comprehension in elementary school English.

The mother didn't even shed any real tears when Velan disappeared

The funniest character of all was Mordin, the silent survivor who would save the day when everyone else is hopeless. Overall, Taklee Genesis is rated a solid seven out of ten. We watched the original version with English subtitles at the cinema.
